The Casual Kiosk game machine (distributed in Russia under the "Igrokub" brand) is a specialized device based on PC hardware and built to run casual games. Unlike traditional game machines that use a cash prize as an incentive to play (One-Handed Bandit and Electronic Roulette are two examples), Casual Kiosk attracts users through the excitement of the gameplay it offers. Colorful casual games with simple rules and captivating gameplay don't require additional enticements to attract users, who just want to relax and add some excitement to their spare time.

All Casual Kiosk machines are equipped with a touch-screen display showing the games in action. When a game is ported from the PC to the Casual Kiosk platform, its controls are customized to enable people to use the sensory capabilities of the system. Casual Kiosk is based on the shareware distribution scheme, so users can play for free for a short time, and then must pay to continue. Casual Kiosk machines are equipped with a banknote receiver. In addition, the cost of each game session is determined by its duration. What's more, all game machines are vandal-proof. One of the more innovative features of Casual Kiosk machines, however, is the availability of several games (currently six) as opposed to a single game. This allows each user to find a game to his or her liking.

The inspiration behind Casual Kiosk was the ever-deepening penetration of casual games onto alternative platforms, such as mobile phones, game consoles and cable television receivers. As casual games are highly adaptable and universally appealing, the hardware or devices used in the delivery process are unimportant. Therefore, Casual Kiosk machines will draw a large number of potential players and offer them affordable prices on popular titles.

Casual Kiosk entertainment devices will be installed in bus stops, movie theaters, malls and other public places. Currently, the project is underway in Russia and the CIS states, with plans to install 1,000 Casual Kiosk machines through the joint efforts of Alawar Entertainment and Smart Games. Future plans include launching the project in the U.S. and Europe.
